2003 Chiefs 35 - 2011 Patriots 33

The Pats were victimized in a stunning 27 point comeback by a Chiefs team most people have forgotten - the only tournament entrant since 1968 and a team I took pretty lightly in all honesty.

The Pats utterly dominated the first half, rolling to a 27 - 0 margin that turned into a deficit by the begining of the 4th quarter. KC's first play from scrimmage in the second was a 61 yard TD pass. The second play from scrimmage was a Tom Brady interception, that shortly turned into another KC TD. Brady turned cold, and Dante Hall took a punt return the distance for a third TD in the quarter. Another Chiefs drive took a lead they would not relinquish, as they added a 5th TD in the final period, and held on after the Pats got remotivated to pull within 2 on a pass to Murdering Aaron Hernandez. The two point attempt failed, and that settled that.

Trent Green is a ferocious passer....in 2003. Not before. Not after. This team has a soft defense, but is pretty dangerous if they can manage a few stops

2002 Buccaneers 31 - 2009 Colts 28

Irresistable force meets immovable object, as in, Peyton Manning meets the 2002 Bucs pass defense. The 2002 Bucs pass D is great in almost every way you could ask for it to be great. They are stingy with completions, and intercept like something out of the dark past of the NFL. In the First half the Defense won, as Tampa was staked to a 17 - 0 halftime lead. two long ball control scoring drives yielded 10 points, and a subsequent interceptio return for a TD gave a farily comfortable cushion. All of Mannings three interceptions occurred in the first 30 minutes, and the game looked like a boat race.

In the second half Manning came alive with a vengeance, and threw very well including a 75 yard TD strike to Austin Collie. The problem was that Tampa's perpetually underrated Brad Johnson played pretty well himself, and Tampa was able to tally another pair of TD's - just enough as it turned out to squeak by with a three point win.

Indy's defense was a problem. Tampa's offense is....OK. Not gaudy. Should be stoppable. Won't burn too many people with big plays. Indy's defesne is not bad, per se, its just not all that good, and I think it killed them here.
