2004 Chargers 38 - 1993 Bills 17

This was a pretty businesslike beat down of a somewhat weaker team by a stronger one. The 93 Bills are not quite the high powered "K-gun" outfit of the previous three years, while the 04 Chargers are a well balanced team both offensively and defensively. Drew Breesplayed reasonably well, though held to short completions, while the Bolts ground game ate up yards and time efficiently. The Bills used a long pick six and a fumbled Chargers punt to keep close, but lost their last best chance to keep even when they got stoned on 4 straight runs from the San Diego 2 yard line.

Game Story

LaDainian Tomlinson was the star of the game as San Diego defeated Buffalo by the score of 38 to 17. Tomlinson carried for 117 yards scoring 2 times. Drew Brees passed 36 times for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. San Diego won the matchups on third down, converting on 7 of 13 opportunities. They controlled the ground game, out-rushing Buffalo 171 to 46 yards. San Diego controlled the ball for 36:57. San Diego got ahead early outscoring Buffalo 14 to 7 in the first quarter. They took the lead into the locker room at the half 21 to 10. San Diego led after three quarters 38 to 17.

2012 Falcons 34 - 2003 Rams 19

This was a comparatively weak matchup. The 2012 Falcons have a superb passing attack, and don't make a lot of mistakes, but apart from that they are quite ordinary. The 2003 Rams are an extremely weak 12-4 team, with Marc Bulger leading a pretty good but strictly a dink n' dunk pass attack, and Marshall Faulk a shadow of himself from 99-01. The defense is kind of a mess, especiallt at Left Corner, and the kick coverage is godawful. That left corner, Jeremetrius Butler, got roasted alive by Roddy White for three long TD passes, and the Mike Martz model pass blocking allowed Bulger to get tossed around like a rag doll, to the tune of seven sacks.

It would have taken more luck than the Rams got to pull this off, and it just wasn't happening. The Falcons move on, and this pale flaccid imitation of "The Greatest Show on Turf" that is the 203 Rams exits
