1966 Cowboys 44 - 1984 Seahawks 31

This was a matchup of two excellent defensive teams - really, I swear! The biggest difference is that the 84 Seahawks depend upon forcing a ton of turnovers, and they didn't force any at all. The Cowboys for their part played perfect 60's football, which means run a lot and administer the kill shot via the long pass. The best 60's QB's are excellent long passers, and while Don Meredith isn't a true elite QB, even in this era, he is very good as a deep passer. In this game he was Dandy indeed, averaging a blistering 17 yards per attempt, though he threw sparingly. Dan Reeves put in an outstanding game catching the ball, as he is practically a 3rd WR who also runs effectively, and FB Don Perkins did yeoman work himself. Dave Krieg of Seattle had an outstanding game himself, but the Seahawks could not mount a real running game, and four turnovers doomed them in the end.
