Both QB's put in impressive performances, but Phillip Rivers still managed to flub an opportunity to advance his team by squandering a pair of 4th Quarter opportunites inside the Dallas 10 - the first when an Intentional Grounding penalty changed a 1st and goal at the 8 into a second and goal at the 18. On the ensuing drive, with S.D. down on point, and in 3rd and goal at the Dallas two Rivers threw an interception to kill San Diego's chances for good. 1992 Dallas is fearsome, but this 93 edition of the Pokes is not without its flaws - and I don't see them as a major threat going forward. 2009 San Diego does only one thing really well - they throw, a lot, and very effectively. They were too one dimensional to have much hopes of going deep in the tournament though. |
