1999 Rams 38 - 2011 49ers 30

The "greatest Show on Turf" racks ups 558 yards of total offense. overwhelming Alex Smith's 49er's, notwithstanding a terrific and furious comeback effort from Smith. The Niners were crippled by Frank Gore's inability to get untracked, poor pass blocking, and the explosivly versatile Rams attack.

Game Story

Kurt Warner had a huge game as the visitors from St. Louis defeated San Francisco by the score of 38 to 30. Warner torched the San Francisco defense for 428 yards and 3 touchdowns. Marshall Faulk rushed the ball 12 times for 70 yards scoring 2 times. St. Louis controlled the action both on the ground and in the air. They out-ran San Francisco 130 to 60 yards, and out-passed them 428 to 277 yards. St. Louis was on top at the half 21 to 9. They led after three quarters 24 to 16. A hightlight for San Francisco was a touchdown pass to Delanie Walker that gained 72 yards with 0:45 left in the 4th quarter. But in the end that fine effort was wasted..
