1992 49ers 38 - 2004 Colts 34

Absolute heartbreaker for the Colts, who took their first lead of the game on a 20 yard pass to Brandon Stokley with a minute left. At this point the SF offense ramped up yet again, with Steve Young hitting 3 consecutive passes to get the Niners near FG range. With 20 seconds left and one time out remaining Rickey watters went off tackle - and broke through clean, taking the ball the distance and killing the Colts for good.

This was a true battle of offensive heavyweights, with both teams scoring on their first three possessions. Both QB's were dead on, and Brandon Stokley roasted weak nickle DB to the tune of 10 catches for over 200 yards. Still not enough in the end.
