1962 Packers 18 - 1968 Chiefs 6




Neither of these two outstanding teams could score a TD. The Chiefs came close early, only to have Len Dawson throw an interception in the end zone. Both defenses played well, but the Chiefs didn't manage to force any turnovers, while the Pack forced three. I had expected the Chiefs to turn over the Pack a couple of times anyways, but it wasn't to be.

Jim Taylor's line wasn't gaudy, but he is brutal in the short running game. He simply plods out 2, 3, 4, 5 yards, every time, through stacked defenses. I kept jamming the LOS trying to stop him, and eventually Starr made me pay.

Game Story
Jerry Kramer had a big game as the visiting team from Green Bay bested Kansas City by the score of 18 to 6. Kramer an amazing 6 field goals, including a long one of 44 yards for the winners. Bart Starr threw 21 times for 253 yards. Jim Taylor rushed the ball 19 times for 71 yards. Green Bay took the lead into the locker room at the half 9 to 6.
