1972 Dolphins 17 - 1988 Bills 13




This one didn't feel as close as it ended up. The Dolphins run game is a machine, and the Bills are soft v. the Run, making me increasingly desperate to slow down Csonka, Morris, and Kiick. By the second half the Bills seem to have figured it out, or they got some more breaks such as 2 missed Yepremian FG's and some 3rd down stops. In any event, the Dolphins points were all scored in the first half, and the Bills scored their only TD in the second, but their rally came up short.

This win by the Dolphins sets up an Earl Morrall v. Earl Morrall showdown as they face the 68 Colts next round.

Game Story
In a close battle Miami topped Buffalo by the score of 17 to 13. Larry Csonka ran the ball 13 times for 86 yards. Miami controlled the ground game, out-rushing Buffalo 202 to 66 yards. Miami was on top at the half 17 to 6. Buffalo had more success in the air, out-passing Miami 207 to 143 yards.
