2004 Patriots 33 - 1998 Vikings 30

Two high powered offenses locked up and went at it hammer and tongs. Both Tom Brady and Randall Cunningham threw for well over 300 yards, as the two team exchanged leads five times.

The Vikes took a 17 - 16 lead into the locker room at half, after Randy Moss had set up a go ahead TD late off of a 51 yard catch and run. The Vikings received the 2nd half kickoff, and disaster struck, in the form of Randall Cunningham's two worst passes of the day. back to back interceptions led to ten New England points. The Vikes defense was stout for much of the second half, and they battled back to within three, before Corey Dillon took an off tackle 36 yards late in the 4th to set up a Brady TD pass and reestablish a ten point lead. Cunningham took the Vikes back downfield for another TD, but they failed to recover the onside kick and the Pats go home the winners.
