1998 Falcons 29 - 1996 Packers 23

Twice Antonio Freeman burnt the Falcons secondary on 70+ yard passes, and the Packers managed a total of three points off of those plays, as a FG was all that they could manage on one, and a strip sack of Brett Favre stopped the other opportunity.

Apart from that Jamal Anderson was a beast, running 31 times for 141 yards, and Chris Chandler provided solid big play passing of his own, enough to down the excellent Packer squad. The Packers managed two TD's in the 4th to close a pretty good sized gap, but not enough as the Falcons executed a textbook 4 minute offense to close out the game.

The '98 Falcons don't get anything like the respect they deserve. They were after all a 14-2 team, and they beat the team that was supposed to be coronated that year (the 15-1 Vikings.) In this game I think they would beat those Vikes six times out of ten - its a simulation after all, and by no means perfect. they were however a true "lightning in a bottle" team; they were losers in '97, and they were losers in '99 - but for one year they were a legit power.
