2002 Bucs 38 - 2003 Chiefs 19

The 2002 Bucs is hardly a powerful outfit, but the 2003 Chiefs defense is flabby and soft, as they surrendered TD's on Tampa's first three possessions. Being behind this Tampa team is a very bad place to be, as their pass defense is stifling. Trent Green found this out the hard way, as he completed bucketfuls of short passes for insignificant yards and threw three intercetions to boot. In KC's only explosive offensive play Eddie Kennison beat CB Brian Kelly for a long TD pass, only to be flagged for Offensive PI.

Tampa played very conservative offense for most of the game, but the KC defense mostly couldn't stop them anyways. The score was kept closer by two missed chip shot FG's by Martin Grammatica (one blocked) and a KO return for a TD by Dante Hall.

Tampa moves on, and the Chiefs, a poser 13 - 3 team if ever there was one, does not.
