| The Panthers had this one. It was in the bag. They had a 10 point lead with three minutes left. They had had trouble stopping Emmitt Smith all day, but Aikman had been contained and their pass defense is solid. It would have been a pretty big upset to take out this Cowboys team...but not today. The Panthers had used two big passes from Kerry Collins to go out to a lead they would maintain, well, until they didn't. The Cowboys drove the field to score a TD with @ 1:30 left - then recovered the onside kick. That's pretty rare, but it happens. On the next play the Panthers got tagged on a long PI call on a deep pattern to Alvin Harper, then Emmitt Smith ran it in from close range. On their final possession Collins got strip sacked and the Cowboys recovered. They opted to kick a FG on 4th down with :01 left, a douche move by my PC if ever there was one. |
