2004 Chargers 27 - 2012 Falcons 24

A dramatic finish to what was a very good game, as the Chargers drop the Falcons despite a sterling 387 yard performance from Matty Ice.

After the Chargers took a 3 point lead with @ 6 minutes or so to go, Matt Ryan led the Falcons on a long time consuming drive. the moment of truth came on a 4th and one at the Chargers 2. The Falcons didn't take the tie, and went for it - only to have their off tackle attempt stuffed by the tough Chargers run defense. The Chargers then converted a 3rd and 7 on a pass to Antonio Gates, and that was that.

The Falcons were an interesting team, in that Matt Ryan and the receiving corps is really really good, and most other aspects of the team are just not. In fact the running game is quite weak, and the run defense even weaker than that. The Falcons had real trouble trying to stop laDainian Tomlinson, even though this is not his best year.

Of note, young Michael Turner played for the '04 Bolts and old washed up Michael Turner played for Atlanta
